The Best Custom Shutters, Blinds & Shades!
Proudly Serving the Chicago metro area

Congrats to Sunburst’s newest Share Your Shutters winner: Chelsey Rushworth! Her winning submission to #ShareYourShutters features two rooms in her home decked out with stylish new Polywood faux wood plantation shutters that beautifully accentuate both her ornate window frames and modern decor.

Neutral Living Area With Shutters

Chelsey, better known on Instagram as Taste of Coffey, is a Boston-based home designer who definitely has a penchant for stylish color schemes. Just one look at her photos shows how she combines whites, off-whites, and muted shades for a look that’s welcoming and comfortable, but at the same time incredibly stylish.

Chelsey even offered a few pieces of advice for DIYers in Chicago and around the country:

  • Have a color scheme in mind. When you decorate a room, you can always adjust colors to accessorize it. Make sure to utilize shades either from your home’s color scheme or ones that will complement it.

  • Be fluid in your use of colors. We picked white shutters and most of our furniture is gray, either fabric or weathered wood. So we decided to mix in splashes of white and color accents.

Not only does Chelsey excel at using colors in her design, but her use of space in her design is great as well. From the placement of her chairs that guide the eyes vertically to the wall and her beautiful shutters, to the way her shelving lines up perfectly under the window, Chelsey’s home is fashionable, functional, and very livable without ever coming close to feeling cluttered.

As our contest winner for Fall, Chelsey will receive a gift card to a great restaurant in Boston, in addition to featuring her designs here. To see her entire body of work, click over to her personal site at TasteofCoffey.com.

And if you believe the shutters in your home look beautiful enough to be a winner, share them on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters. We want to see another Chicago house featured here!
